Can you perhaps provide an option to deactivate it from the front end instead of editing the code?

Hi, I'm new to the community, so apologies if I ask a stupid question.
After following the instructions to change the logo, I have successfully changed it. However, there's an unusually large gap after the logo, which isn't there in your demo theme.
I have also added a header image in the home page style, like in your demo theme, but it doesn't have the same rollover effect that yours does. The logo DOES have this effect though?
What am I doing wrong?
I think it would be useful if your theme documentation explained how to create your demo site (or if that was the default state).
